Damaged By: H.M. Ward
(Nicole) When I first read the summary of Damaged I thought that it was going to be such a great book. I thought it was going to be one of those books that you can't put down but was I wrong. When I started reading Damaged I did get into it but after a while the book got to be predictable. It was easy to figure out what Sidney's secret was and when she was so damaged. What was surprising was that Peter was also damaged. And that was the reason for Peter backing out at the last minute when he and Sidney first met and went back to his place. It wasn't until the end of the book that you get a sense of why these two are so good together. But by that time I was already over the book and only finished reading because I was already halfway through the book. I don't recommend reading this book it is just another story about a teacher and his student falling for each other just with it's own twist to it.

Walking Disaster By: Jaime McGuire
This book is the follow-up to Beautiful Disaster. This story is told from Travis' point of view rather than Abby's point of view like it was in the first book. Now we get to see Travis' side to the story of how the two met and ultimately fell in love in a world full of women, gambling, and fighting.
After reading the first book and waiting months for this book to come out Walking Disaster fell short to expectations.
(M) This book was definitely not my favorite. I felt that many parts were skipped and awkward time lapses were taken. The epilogue randomly jumps 11 years with no explanation why it was that particular amount. Even though it was nice to see what happened with the characters in the future it still left me confused.
You also didn't really get a sense of Travis as a character. It was basically the same explanations you got in Beautiful Disaster. I wished that you got to see what Travis did when he wasn't with Abby, but the author just skipped over all of that. I don't feel like I know his character better since reading this. If I had my choice I would just read the first one. It was a waste of time and money to read this.
(N) In my opinion this book was nowhere near as good as the first book. I thought that reading Travis' point of view would give me more insight to how he felt about Abby and meeting her. But really it was nothing like that. This book was literally like reading the first one over again with just a few differences in between. One thing that really got me going was I thought that I was finally going to be able to find out how Travis felt in his drunk state when he and Abby first kissed or the time when he hooked up with those two girls. But even then you don't know how he feels about what happens cause it just jumps to the next day and him waking up. So you really never know what Travis was thinking all you have to go on is Abby's point of view.
At one point I got so fed up with the book that I just skipped over a few chapters until I found the book interesting again. The only good thing in this book was the epilogue when it was eleven years into the future and you get to find out what happens with Travis and Abby. In my opinion I would just say to read the first book and don't even bother with this one.
