Wethering the Storm (The Storm #2) By: Samantha Towle

(N) Music journalist Tru Bennett has done the impossible, she has captured the heart of womanizing rockstar bad boy Jake Wethers. Now the two are planning a wedding and navigating their new life together in the US. Of course Tru misses London, and her parents, and her best friend Simone but she knows living her happily ever after with Jake in LA is going to be great.
Life in LA isn't all sunshine and rainbows, being in a relationship with a public rockstar comes with the dark side of celebrity coupledom. Greedy music execs, merciless paparazzi, and Jake's wild past are lurking around every corner. To make matters worse Jake announces that he doesn't want to have kids, which may just be a deal breaker. Tru loves Jake more than anything but the thought of not having kids with him is a little much.
But when a devastating crisis threatens to destroy everything Tru and Jake have fought for they must face the hard truth, what if love isn't enough?

I have just finished reading Wethering the Storm and yet again just like the first book in The Storm series I found myself unable to put this book down. While Tru and Jake were going through there crisis you felt for them and were rooting for them. Towle made you really feel for them and that is something you want when you read a book to feel for the characters and want them to survive everything together. If you haven't started reading The Storm series yet then I suggest you start reading.

The Mighty Storm (The Storm #1) By: Samantha Towle

(N) The Mighty Storm is the first book in the Storm series and is also a book that I have read numerous times now. Since I never wrote a review on this book I thought I would do so now after having just finished reading it again.

Tru Bennett was just fourteen years old when her best friend and first love, Jake Wethers, moved from England to the US which left Tru brokenhearted. Now twelve years later Jake is the world's biggest rock star, lead singer of The Mighty Storm and every woman's bad-boy fantasy. Every woman that is except for Tru.
Tru is a successful music journalist and knows better than to mix business with pleasure. But then she receives the assignment of a lifetime: an interview with Jake before his band launches for their highly anticipated world tour. Before her interview Tru vows to keep their meting strictly professional, but nothing could prepare her for the sparks that fly the moment Tru and Jake's eyes meet for the first time in twelve years.
Now Jake wants Tru to join their band on tour, offering her a behind the scenes exclusive that any journalist would kill for. There's just one problem, Tru has a boyfriend but even then she cannot seem to deny the chemistry her and Jake have.

I have read this book so many times before and yet again I found myself unable to put it down.If you're a fan of books with rockstar bad boys then this book is for you. Jake is a full on bad boy womanizer and all. But there's just something about how he feels for Tru that lets you know he's not as bad as he claims to be.

Becoming Mrs. Lockwood By: K.I. Lynn

(N) While on fall break Wren Bradford and her mom fly off to Vegas. During their trip all Wren's mother wants to do is gamble leaving Wren whose only 18 to herself. Seeing as how there's not much to do when you're 18 and in Vegas Wren spends most of her time in the hotel's Starbucks drinking coffee and reading. There Wren has a chance meeting with a handsome stranger who asks her to spend the day with him. With nothing else better to do and having gone a bit stir crazy Wren decides to spend the day with him. That night the two go to dinner, have a little bit too much to drink and wake up the next morning only to discover that they're now married.
Wren's life has just been turned upside down and while she wants to forget that the whole thing happened she cannot deny the chemistry she and her now husband have for one another. And because of that insane chemistry the two decide to give their marriage a shot before calling it quits. So Wren goes off to California with her new husband leaving everything and everyone behind. There Wren is thrown into the LA lifestyle something completely opposite from her home in Indianapolis. It is also in LA where Wren discovers just who she married, Hollywood movie producer Weston Lockwood.
Finding out just how famous her husband is just made her situation all the more real. Wren married a complete stranger, someone she knows absolutely nothing about. Marriage is hard and its only made all the worse when you marry a complete stranger and have to hide your marriage from the rest of the world. You see while Wren may be 18 and still in high school Weston is 31 and he knows if the paparazzi get a hold of just how young his new wife is they will never leave her alone.

When I first saw the length of the book and noticed that it was just under 450 pages I figured that I was gonna be in for a long read but that wasn't the case at all. I managed to finished Becoming Mrs. Lockwood in what seemed like no time at all. Those are the books the kinds of books that I enjoy reading the most. The ones where no matter the length they keep you interested throughout the entire read. And while there were times when I thought I should be further along in the story than I was just because so much had already happened I never once wanted to put this book down. I found myself falling in love with these characters. And while there may seem like a big age difference between Wren and Weston, Wren seems at times more mature for her age while Weston grew up a child star and having lost most of his childhood to being in the public eye leaving Weston not always being as mature as he should be. Wren and Weston are perfect for each other and that really shows in this book. You want them to stay together no matter what. This is definitely a book that you should give a read.

Brownlow Baby By: Katie Hamstead

(N) Julia Saxon has been in love with her best friend Lachlan since the moment they first met. The problem is, Lachlan Daniels has no idea how Julia really feels about him and Lachlan is too busy already being in love with his model girlfriend. But then his model girlfriend dumps him on the night of the Brownlow Medal ceremony, the most prestigious award in Australian Rules Football. Needing a last minute date Lachlan invites Julia and now that he's single Julia is determined to win Lachlan over.
For one night Julia believes she's succeeded that is until the morning when Lachlan runs out her place in a panic, apparently regretting their night together. With the support from her friends Julia tries to move on and even manages to get herself a boyfriend. But then the vomiting starts.
When the pregnancy test shows up positive Julia knows exactly who the father is, Lachlan. But that only complicates things more as Lachlan still continues to pine after his ex who has now moved on to one of his teammates but still never misses an opportunity to mess with Lachlan. To make matters worse when Julia decides to keep her baby her boyfriend breaks up with her and moves away as he is unable to watch her carry his teammate's child.
As the months past Lachlan finds out about the pregnancy and vows to stand by Julia. Julia and Lachlan struggle to make their complicated relationship work, just when it seems like their relationship is on the right track they take three steps back. In order for their relationship to ever truly work Lachlan will have to chose Julia and their baby over his ex.

This was probably one of the most dramatic books that I have read in a while. It seemed like every time I turned the page something else was going on that led to at least two of the characters fighting with each other. At one point I actually thought to myself 'there is really no need for all of this drama.' So with that in mind I felt as though this book just had a little too much drama for my liking.

Love In Between (Love #1) By: Sandi Lynn

(N) Lily Gilmore was supposed to be getting married but on her wedding day moments before she was supposed to walk down the aisle Lily caught her fiancee with her brother and worst than that her mother knew they were hooking up behind Lily's back and never thought to tell her. Lily grew up with a famous rockstar father who was nothing but a womanizer who cheater on her mother every chance he got. Lily grew up around cheaters and liars and that was not how she wanted to spend the rest of her life, the life her mother had. Wanting a fresh start Lilty moved from Seattle to Santa Monica to focus on her passion, photography. Lily wanted a life with no men, no lies, and no hassles. And then she met Luke Matthews.
A year ago Luke Matthews lost the love of his life, his fiance, in a tragic car accident. That day he didn't just lose the love of his life he also lost his life and his dreams. Luke no longer lives he just exists and plays guitar to try and ease his pain. His love died that day in the car accident and that was something he would never get back, that is until he met Lily Gilmore.

I read Love in Between a while ago since I never wrote a review on this before I thought that I would now. When I first read this book I really enjoyed reading it and couldn't wait for the next one to come out. But then time went by and I never read the next book so I decided that I would give this book a read again before finally moving on to the next book. And while reading this again I realized that I just found Love In Between to be just an okay read. It wasn't the best book that I've read from this author and while I am tempted to find out what happens next I didn't enjoy it as much as I should to find out.
If you are a fan of this author or just want to read Love in Between then I say give it a read otherwise I say that this is one that can be skipped.

Phoenix's Heart By: Khelsey Jackson

(N) Jennifer Cruz just found her boyfriend of five years in bed with some blonde. Heartbroken and angry Jennifer agrees to go out to a club for a hook up after her best friend Megan suggests it. It doesn't take long for Jennifer to meet Phoenix, the man she will go home with. Phoenix is mysterious and dark but Jennifer just has to have him. After what was supposed to be a one night stand, Jennifer finds out she is pregnant. To make matters worse she finds out her new boss at work is the mysterious and dark Phoenix.
Phoenix is an incubus who doesn't believe in love. When the woman who has invaded his every thought ever since they had sex is standing in his office he wants to scream....her face and smell have been forever burned into his head. As much as he knows he shouldn't and can't be with her Phoenix can't seem to let go of Jennifer.

I actually first read Phoenix's Heart a while ago but because I never wrote a review about it I thought that I would do one now. I first want to say that I am in love with this book I have read it multiple times and still cannot get enough of it. I find Phoenix's Heart to be sure an enjoyable read. While it may not seem like much when reading it you won't be able to help but want to keep reading. I have read this book so many times now and still find it just as enjoyable as the last. If you haven't read Phoenix's Heart yet then I suggest doing so.

The Sexy One By: Lauren Blakely

(N) She works with him every single day, she works in his home with his five year-old daughter, teaching her and cooking for her. And more importantly she's his nanny which makes her completely off limits. These are just some of the reasons why Simon shouldn't be falling into a forbidden love.
The other nannies in the city don't call him The Sexy One for nothing. Simon is an amazingly wonderful single father to the little girl Abby looks after every day. He is ridiculously hot, like movie star level hot with those arms, eyes, and that body. Not to mention the way he dotes on his little girl melts Abby all over. But what really gets to Abby and makes her just weak in the knees are the times when his gaze lingers on Abby. Abby knows that it would be too much of a risk for a chance at something more with Simon but she doesn't know how much longer she can resist him for.

I don't know why I find myself reading another Lauren Blakely book when I wasn't that fond of the first book I read by her but I really wanted to read this book so I decided to give her another shot. Needless to say this was another miss for me The Sexy One seemed to have potential with this story but for the life of me I just could not get into it. I mean I tried to get into it because I really wanted to like this story and even managed to finish it all in a day but still it just wasn't what I thought it would be and didn't work for me in the least bit. So I cannot wholeheartedly recommend giving The Sexy One a read.
