Just an Illusion - Encore (The Illusion Series #5) By: D. Kelly

(N) Sawyer Weston has done the unthinkable - he's fallen for his brother's girl. He's never purposefully hurt Noah, but that's exactly what's going to happen if he can't get Amelia out of his system. A stolen kiss between them finally brings Sawyer to his senses. No matter how much he wants her, Amelia has made her choice.
When tragedy strike, Sawyer finds himself taking on more responsibility than he ever imagined. Can Sawyer remain the rock his family needs in their time of crisis? Or will he succumb to his deepest desires and fall in love with Amelia all over again.

Besides the first two books in this series, Just an Illusion: Side A and Just an Illusion: Side B, I've enjoyed reading this series multiple times and Just an Illusion - Encore was no different. I loved reading Sawyer's point of view on what happened in Just an Illusion: EP and it was something else. Reading just how much Sawyer loved Mel, Amelia, when she was with his brother and how much it hurt him to feel this way made everything all the more real. But what I also enjoyed reading was what happens after Just an Illusion: EP ended and getting to see the relationship of Mel and Sawyer further down the road. And without giving too much away, it was nice to read the relationship between Sawyer and Nate. I do hope that this story doesn't end here, and while towards the end there were mentions of spin-off books for several of the characters in this series the one spin-off I want to read that wasn't mentioned was Nate's story.

The Wright Brother (Wright Series #1) By: K.A Linde

(N) She dated his brother. He didn't remember and she wishes she could forget.
Emery had swore off the Wright family a long time ago. But when she returned home, Jensen Wright crashed into Emery's life with the confidence of a billionaire CEO and the sex appeal of a god. Even Emery couldn't resist their charged chemistry or the way he fit into Emery's life like a missing puzzle piece.
Too bad he'd forgotten the one thing that could destroy Emery and Jensen.
Because Jensen Wright doesn't share. Not with anyone. And if his brother finds out, this could all go down in flames.
When it all was said and done, was he the Wright brother?

I managed to read The Wright Brother all in one day, it was just a book that I could not put down. And while I did love reading this book I don't know if I would continue on with this series as I did not seem to find the other Wright siblings nearly as interesting.

Pucking Parker (Face-Off Legacies #1) By: Jillian Quinn

 (N) She's the coach's daughter. He's his dad's favorite player....And completely off-limits.
The first time Bex met Preston Parker, she slammed face first into his wet, chiseled abs. In the men's locker room, of all places. She did the world's longest walk of shame in front of dozens of hockey players. As if that wasn't embarrassing enough, Mr. MVP gave Bex one of his killer smirks, right before dropping his towel in front of her. Just to prove a point. That no woman could resist him. Not even Bex.
Now, Bex can't stop thinking about Parker and his lickable abs. He keeps finding ways to see her, touch her. And Bex finds herself wanted to break her dad's rules about his players. Rules Bex never breaks for a reason. Because falling for a player like Parker...was never part of the plan.

I could not stop reading Pucking Parker, it was so hard putting this book down whether because I had to go to sleep or because I had to work. Either excuse was not good enough to get me to stop reading. While I don't necessarily know if I would read Pucking Parker again I definitely want to continue on with this series.

Heart of Stone (Gods & Monsters #4) By: Kelly Keaton

(N) God-killer Ari and mistborn Sebastian are on the hunt for Archer, infant son of Athena, a child fated to bring about the Blood Wars, the ultimate showdown between the gods and the monsters they created, a war that will trap mankind in the middle of a destructive conflict thousands of years in the making.
As Ari and Sebastian attempt to rescue the child, forces pull them apart, sending Sebastian on a perilous journey to the desert sands of Egypt and into the lair of a dark, enthralling entity, and Ari to the Halls of Olympus and, darker still, the very heart of the Underworld where Death awaits with a bargain that brings Ari's worst nightmares into sharp and heart wrenching focus.

I've finally got around to finishing this series and I'm disappointed to say that Heart of Stone wasn't nearly as interesting as the other books in the Gods and Monsters series. While I did manage to finish Heart of Stone in no time at all it wasn't nearly as satisfying as the other books in this series.

The Wicked Within (Gods & Monsters #3) By: Kelly Keaton

(N) Her fate is set stone.
Having temporarily defeated Athena, Ari races to break the gorgon curse that has plagued the women in her family for centuries. Her one lead sends her on quest for the Hands of Zeus, an ancient relic last seen in the charge of New 2's ruling elite, the Novem. But if there is one thing that Athena desires as much as revenge, it's the Hands of Zeus - and Athena always gets what she wants.
Before either can locate the Hands, the statue goes missing, and a trail of blood follows those who once protected the relic's secrets. Ari knows that her city, her friends, Sebastian - her life - depend upon her finding the statue before Athena. And with rumors that an ancient power is on the rise, the statue may not be her only concern.

So I'm finally getting around the reading the next book in the Gods and Monsters series, and just like the two books before I couldn't put this book down. Even after all this time I still enjoy reading not only this book and this entire series.

Pulse (Rockstar #15) By: Anne Mercier

(N)  A Jucy and Sage short story
Jesse and Lucy need a break. They look and feel like cast members from The Walking Dead, and I'm not talking about the human. It's only an overnight break, but it's exactly what they need.
Cage and Sera attend a charity function and run into an unwelcome enemy. They spend a special night together before they get to work on a plan of how to keep one of their own safe.

While Pulse wasn't the book I have been waiting for in the Rockstar series, it was actually one of the more enjoyable books I've read from this series in a while.  I think this is because Pulse focused on my two favorite couples Sera and Cage and Lucy and Jesse. The other thing I like about this story was the sneak peak of Refrain, the sixteenth book in the Rockstar series. Reading this sneak peak only made me more anticipated to read Ethan and Lincoln's story. I hope by the time Refrain is finally released that the long wait and the hype were all worth it.
My only compliant for this story is that I wish it was longer and that we got to see a bit more of Lucy and Jesse's kids.

The Interview: New York & Los Angeles (Part 2) By: Sandi Lynn

(N) Laurel found her happily ever after. Laurel never thought she could truly love someone the way she loved Wayatt, and she never thought anyone could love her the way he did. Fate stepped in and threw Laurel and Wyatt together, binding their love in a way that was stronger than anything she'd ever known. Laurel's life was perfect, and between both their jobs and loving each other, they were busy planning their wedding. Laurel couldn't ask for, nor did she want anything else.
Then fate put its hand in Laurel's life for a second time and turned her fairytale world upside down. Laurel and Wyatt's relationship was tested, and nothing could have prepared Laurel for the journey she was about to face. Laurel's outer strength was a facade to everyone who knew her, while Laurel's inner strength crumbled into tiny pieces.

When I finished reading the part one of The Interview, I didn't realize that it was a part one until I saw this part two. Since I liked part one so much it only made sense to read part two. But where I couldn't stop reading part one, part two just didn't hold the same appeal that part one had. And while I will be reading part one again, I don't think that I'll be reading part two again anytime soon. If you read part one and aren't sure about reading part two, I say skip it. While there are some important things that happen in this story I wouldn't say that it was really worth reading about.

This Love By: Emily Snow

(N) In a perfect world, Veronica would never have gone to one of the Delaney brother' fabled summer parties. He wouldn't have kissed her. And he wouldn't be making her body do wicked, beautiful things when he calls out her name or touches her.
Thank god the world's not perfect.
But Bennett Delaney is. He's filthy rich and arrogant. So achingly gorgeous that Veronica's heart skips a beat when he looks at her.
Veronica is the daughter of his family's nanny-turned-housekeeper. The scholarship student from Queens. The girl who's had a thing for him her whole life. The one currently tangled up in his sheets. Again.
She knows she shouldn't get attached. That this might end as quickly as it started. That falling in love with Bennett is wrong.
Veronica knows all this but her heart.
      It's already his.

When I started reading This Love I was really into the story but as the story when on it didn't hold my interest quite the same. And while that twist was different than I thought it would be I'm not quite sure if I want to continue on with this series yet.

His Billionaire Dollar Baby By: Lea Nolan

 (N) Burned by love and grieving over his brother's death, sexy billionaire CEO Carter Anderson wants nothing more than to protect his family. So when beautiful and unassuming physical therapist Gwen Radley shows up at the funeral, pregnant with his brother's baby, Carter's certain she wants an interest in the Anderson empire - and both his suspicion and attraction grow when circumstances force Gwen to move into his family's mansion.
An orphan, Gwen's never wanted anything more than a family, and she finds in the Andersons a place she and her baby might belong. When Gwen's therapy expertise leads to long hours of intense, late-night collaboration on a lucrative project, the attraction between her and Carter leads to a night of white-hot passion. But Carter's distrust remains, leading them both to wonder if he will ever embrace his brother's baby - or the love that's blooming between them.

I've read His Billionaire Dollar Baby before so I decided this time I would write a review about it. Because of what has happened in his past Carter immediately dislikes Gwen because he reminds him so much of what almost happened to him. Even though Gwen has done nothing to prove any different Carter just can't get past his past to see what is right in front of his eyes. And while all that is frustrating you can kind of understand where he is coming from, up until a point. You want Gwen and Carter to work out but first Carter has to work through his own issues.

Rebel Heart (The Rush Series #2) By: Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland

(N) Rebel Heart picks up right where Rebel Heir left off and yet again I could not put this book down.  You felt for both Rush and Gia, there were so many things working against these two but as the same time there was so much rooting for them.

Her Debt (Lock and Key Book #1) By: Rebel Rose

(N) Tristan entire world changed the second that he saw Emma Lia in his casino. Emma Lia's a professional gambler. And a cheat. A damn good one...but not good enough. And now she owes a debt to him. A debt that only her body can repay.
Tristan is restless with lust and need and desire for this thing of beauty not in his possession. Tristan's mind and body are obsessed with her.
When he spanks her for the first time, he knows that he's right. She's the one. The woman that he's going to break. The woman that he's going to train for only his particular tastes. Tristan is going to shatter her into a million pieces and then rebuild her into everything that he wants and needs and desires.
     His next submissive.

Going into Her Debt I had an idea of how this story was going to pan out based on reading the synopsis but once I started I knew that it would be something else entirely. I just couldn't get passed how much Tristan wanted to control and dominate Emma Lia. I get that Tristan wanted Emma Lia to be his submissive but how he went about it was just too much for me and while I read this whole story I won't be continuing on with the rest of the series.

Rush By: Samantha Towle

(N) It's been three years since quarterback Ares Kincaid's NFL dream came true, and he's living the high life. The days of cleaning up after his drunk of a father are long gone, and he has no intention of going back.
A car crash and DUI charge meant a lengthy stint in rehab for Arianna Petrelli, and her dream of being a professional artist slips further away when she's sacked from her position at a gallery. When her need for a job becomes stronger than her dislike of football, Ari goes to work for her father, the head coach of the New York Giants.
Ares hates alcoholics, which is fine with Ari because she thinks he's a brainless jock. Yet when Ares rescues Ari from a situation with her ex-boyfriend, an unlikely friendship begins - one that quickly becomes more.
But messing around with the coach's daughter can only lead to one thing...trouble.

Samantha Towle has done it again, once I started reading Rush I just could not seem to put it down. The love/hate relationship between Ares and Arianna in the beginning of the story is great, you can really tell that even though these two want to hate each other there's still a growing attraction between them. Towel does a great job at showing just how thin the line between love and hate really is.

Ruin By: Rachel Van Dyken

(N) Kiersten's not your typical girl. She's been running away from the memories that haunt her for so long that depression has become her only comfort. Kiersten was content in the darkness...until Wes Michels offered to be her light.
Kiersten didn't know that time wasn't her ally - that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of herself. He tried to warn her. He promised her all he was able to offer - each moment as it came - but it would never be enough.
Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save Kiersten, but in giving her everything, he ruined her. Because after one kiss, one touch, Kiersten couldn't-she wouldn't ever be the same.
And for that moment on, his heartbeat became her own.

I've read a few books by Rachel Van Dyken before and have really enjoyed reading them. I kept seeing Ruin on my suggested lists for a while now and I finally decided to give it a read after reading the synopsis and some of the reviews. And I'm sad to say that I could not understand why so many liked this book. I could barley make it through the second half of the story and by the end of it I was ready for the whole thing to be over.

The Interview: New York & Los Angeles By: Sandi Lynn

 (N) Anti-relationship - check
       Dysfunctional family - check
Moved three thousand miles away from my dysfunctional family - check
       Dream job - check
Laurel Holloway is twenty-seven years old. She moved to Seattle four years go to pursue her dream job as a journalist for the Seattle Times and to get as far away from her dysfunctional family as possible. One of Laurel's assignments was to interview and write an article on two well-known hot and sexy bachelors who were self-made millionaires under the age of thirty-five. Women wanted to know why they were still single.
Millionaire bachelor number one lived in Los Angeles and millionaire bachelor number two lived in New York. Both men were damaged and very private and refused to be interviewed, so Laurel had to use her creative ways to change their minds. Laurel was getting those interviews one way or another. Little did Laurel know when she embarked on this adventure that these men would have a huge impact on her life, and one of them would change her world forever.

If you haven't figured it out already Sandi Lynn is one of my favorite authors. And The Interview was yet another hit from my favorite author. Going into The Interview I wasn't so sure how I would feel about this book because the last Sandi Lynn book I read wasn't my favorite but Sandi pulled through. I was once again back to not being able to put one of her books down and falling completely in love with the story.

Paper, Scissors, Rock (A Rock Games Novel) By: Nicole Goodin

(N) "This is Shelly Corbett, reporting to you live for HDN news, I'm outside 'The Jeff' nightclub where we have reports coming in left, right and center that serial womanizer, 'the world's gift to music' -Parker Sloan, has set his sights on a mystery redhead. Breaking footage has revealed the talented musician carrying the unknown woman across a crowded nightclub, and later kissing her passionately in the street. Could it be that Parker Sloan is finally off the market?"
When Parker sees something he wants, he goes for it. The moment he lays eyes on Charlotte, he has to have her. 'No' isn't a word Parker has heard for the past five years, and he doesn't have any intentions of starting now.
Charlotte Watson has already had one devastating brush with fame, and she swore that was enough to last her a lifetime.

I didn't mind reading Paper, Scissors, Rock. While it wasn't the best rocker story that I've ever it did manage to hold my interest for most of the story.  If it wasn't for the last few chapters in this story I wouldn't mind reading it again, the ending was just a little lagging for me personally.

Hers, Untamed By: Anna Adler

(N) Alyssa Cressfield always wanted a pet-a big, a sexy man who would look impressive on a leash. Now, she is finally ready to realize her dream. She visits a pet training center, intending to buy a trained pet. Instead she finds Jax, a fierce human-alien hybrid freshly caught from space, still untamed and unbroken. Alyssa has never encountered an untamed pet before. She can't resist temptation; she must have him.
On Silenia, it is customary for humans to keep other intelligent species as pets and sex toys. Alyssa is kind at heart, but she is a product of her society and therefore sees nothing wrong with keeping a man in a cage against his will. Jax, on the other hand, is a space pirate who now finds himself wearing a collar and being treated like property. He has no intention of turning tame and obedient, and a battle of wills ensues.

I'm going to be honest, I only started reading Hers, Untamed because it was free. When I first read the synopsis I thought for sure I was not going to like this book. And like I said I only decided to read this because it was free.
In order to truly enjoy this read you first have to get past a few things. For example, having a person or alien as a pet took a long time to get past and look over especially with how the 'pets' are treated. But once you get past all of that Hers Untamed wasn't actually a bad read.

Mateo Santiago (The Santiago Series #1) By: Katelgo Moncho

(N) Juniper Evigan is the daughter of one of the strongest Alphas alive, and that comes with a lot of pressure. When she brought shame to her family 5 years ago she was shunned. Now, at eighteen, she must decide to stay with her pack and live as an outcast, or be run off the land and never return.
Mateo Santiago hates life and everything in it. Living with a curse bestowed upon his ancestors has hardened him, and at the age of 23 he is the most feared Alpha in the world. When a rogue is brave enough to cross his lands, he plans to confront her - but is surprised by their intense connection. A connection he never believed possible and he was told he could never have.

What started out on a good note only went downhill as I kept reading. There was just so much going on and I get with any 500 page book a lot usually does happen. But in those cases whatever is going on is usually cohesive. Mateo Santiago had none of that, there was just too much going on all at once and I feel like this could have been at least two books instead of one. Needless to say this 500 page book really was a 500 page read.

Almost Never By: Amy Lamont

(N) Son of an aging rock star, Declan Cooper is considered royalty on the Warren College campus. When he meets petite freshman Harper Warden, he dismisses her as just another groupie. He realizes his mistake pretty quickly, but despite his near-obsession with the premed student, he keeps his distance. The last thing she needs is the notoriety that comes along with being connected to his infamous family.
Getting blown off by the sexy and popular King of Campus is the kiss of death for the new life Harper hoped to make of herself at college. Her only goal now is to get into medical school so she can leave her past, and Declan Cooper, far behind. But when the plans Harper made are threatened, Declan might be the only person who can help. All she has to do is trust him with a few small things-like her heart and her future.

Almost Never was another book that I've been waiting forever to read.  And maybe it's because I wait so long to read some of things books that I hype them up in my head or what. But this was yet another long awaited book that I could have done without. Almost Never started out on a semi good note but as the story went on things were just dragging until finally I just gave up and skipped ahead to the end.

Midnight Sun By: Trish Cook

(N) Seventeen-year-old Katie Price has a rare disease that makes exposure to even the smallest amount of sunlight deadly. Confined to her house during the day, her company is limited to her widowed father and her best (okay, only) friend. It's isn't until after nightfall that Katie's world opens up, when she takes her guitar to the local station and plays for the people coming and going.
Charlie Reed is a former all-star athlete at a crossroads in his life - and the boy Katie has secretly admired from afar for years. When he happens upon her playing guitar one night, fate intervenes and the two embark on a star-crossed romance.
As they challenge each other to chase their dreams and fall for each other under the summer night sky, Katie and Charlie form a bond strong enough to change them - and everyone around them - forever.

When I first saw the trailer the movie that is based on this book I didn't know what to think. But the more I saw the trailers the more I actually thought about seeing the movie and before I did that I wanted to read Midnight Sun, the story. And for the most part I actually enjoyed reading Midnight Sun, it kind of started to lag towards the end but other than that I enjoy reading this book.

Midnight Wolf (Shifters Unbound #11) By: Jennifer Ashley

(N) Angus Murray, bouncer for a New Orleans Shifter bar, is sent to round up an elusive, Collar-less Shifter woman, Tamsin Calloway, who is causing trouble for Shifter Bureau, and possesses information they want. If Angus refuses, he risks losing his cub. He finds Tamsin but she's slippery  and not about to be rounded up quietly.
In fact, quiet is nothing Tamsin will ever be. She leads Angus on a wild chase, but he's determined to bring her in to save his son.
Can Tamsin convince Angus she's worth helping before she's locked away by Shifter Bureau, Collared, or perhaps killed?

I've heard numerous books from this series and most of those I am in love with but Midnight Wolf was not one of them. I just could not get into Midnight Wolf and didn't even end up reading the whole thing before giving up on the story. Angus and Tamsin's story just wasn't for me.

Xander Part Two (Rockstar #14) By: Anne Mercier

(N) It's eleven years later, and they're still living separate lives. When Xander knows Tera isn't comfortable with his lifestyle after everything she's been through, he can't be without her anymore.
Xander needs her. Tera's his wife. She's his heartbeat. She's his every breath. She's his everything.
He wants to know every detail of her life. He wants to be a part of it all. He wants to work as hard to get there as she did to get here.
Tera's always been Xander's girl - even at the age of eight. As Xander faces her now, there's no doubt she'll be his until he draws his last breath.
It's time for their forever to begin.

When I started reading the Rockstar series I was immediately in love with it. But as the series went on it started to drag and with these last few books especially with Xander's books. I don't know if it's because I've waited so long for these books to come out or what because Xander's story just did not do it for me. I once again couldn't get into Tera and Xander's story and started skimming through it all. I wanted to like this story because of how much I loved the character of Xander but I just couldn't do it.

The Negotiation By: Sandi Lynn

(N) Companionship is a good thing. Relationships are not. Emily Wade was raised to believe that happily ever after didn't exist. That relationships were doomed before they even started, and that as long as the attraction to someone is purely physical, life is uncomplicated and good. Emily lived by that and was probably the only anti-relationship person in the world. She found herself in the midst of so much man drama that she decided to take a hiatus from the dating world. Until she meets the brutally handsome CEO of Caine Property Development & Management, Jackson Caine. He was an anti-relationship as Emily was and wanted to negotiate a deal that would let them both have their cake and eat it too.
Jackson's mother is one her fourth husband and his father was on his fifth wife.
Jackson Caine grew up in a world where he was taught that nothing lasts forever. He saw and lived the destruction each relationship his parents had and it was something he never wanted. Jackson was career driven, successful, the boss of his own life, and as anti-relationship as one could be. Jackson has had his fill of women and the drama that went with them. Until he met Emily Wade. A beautiful woman who understood and shared the same thoughts he did. Emily and Jackson were the perfect companions for each other. No complications, no drama, and certainly no commitment, ever. They negotiated a deal that would suit both of them, and as long as no one breaks the rules that were set in place, they both can have their cake and eat it too.
     Until...

This was yet another hit for Sandi Lynn! I could not stop reading The Negotiation and finished it in no time at all. If you haven't read any of Sandi Lynn's books yet, this is a good place to start.

Rebel Heir (The Rush Series #1) By: Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward

(N) How to kick off a great summer in the Hampton's: snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check. Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check. How to screw up a great summer in the Hampton's: Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn't fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can't have when you'll be leaving at the end of the season. Check. Check. Check.
Add - especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss. Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town. Especially when he's mean to you. Or so she thought. Until one night when he demanded Gia get in his car so he could drive her home because he didn't want Gia walking in the dark.
That was sort of how it all started with Rush. And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down. Gia never expected that the two of them, seemingly opposite from the outside, would grow so close. She wasn't supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn't want to cross the line with her. As the temperature turned cooler, the night became hotter. Gia's summer became a lot more interesting--and complicated.
All good things must come to an end, right? Except their ending was one Gia didn't see coming.

By now I've read a few books both by Vi Keeland and by Penelope Ward, so reading a book that the two of them wrote together was a no brainier. And Rebel Heir was exactly what I thought it would be, a book I could not put down.

Filthy Gods (America Gods: Prelude) By: R. Scarlett

(N)  Young. Wealthy. elite. Attractive. The gentlemen's secret society at Yale was filled with them. And Nathaniel Radcliffe, the bane of Juliette's existence, was one of them. As the right hand of the American Gods, he was conceited and arrogant. A dangerously handsome man in a tailored custom suit and shiny black oxford loafers.
The classroom was their battlefield. Nathaniel and Juliette made a sport out of arguing and debating, ready to do anything in order to win over the other.
Deadly opponents, deadlier minds. Juliette sworn she'd never give Nathaniel the upper hand, until... The secret Juliette had been hiding for the last three years, Nathaniel just discovered it...and now he has all the power.

I cannot wait for the next books in the American Gods series to come out. I finished this book in one time at all and this was just the prelude, I can only image what the actual books will bring.

Luminous (Once Bitten, Twice Shy #3) By: Noelle Marie

(N) Katherine didn't think she had ever heard so many creative way of being called fat before. Except she wasn't fat, of course. Even worse, she was pregnant.
When Katherine begins experiencing random physiological changes a few months after being claimed as Bastian's mate, she's terrified that she may somehow be losing her supernatural abilities - her "inner wolf", so to speak.
In many ways, though, the truth is even scarier: she's pregnant.
Amidst dealing with morning sickness, wondering how she's going to push a baby the size of a melon out of her you know, and, oh yeah, figuring out a way to tell Bastian the life-altering news, Katherine finds herself shedding her initial apprehension over her pregnancy and becoming enamored with the idea of a baby.
Unfortunately, in a world where fertile wombs among werewolves are as rare as they are revered, envy and covetousness abound, Evil - both the kind that lurks in shadows, and the king that blatantly rears its ugly head - threaten to rip away Katherine from everything she never knew she wanted.

Now as I just finished reading this third book in the Once Bitten, Twice Shy series I can safely say that I did not like this series. What started out on a relatively good note went downhill and fast with each book and chapter. Each book seemed to get worse for me until I was skipping over a majority of the final book. I only kept continuing on until the end only because I wanted to know how the story and series would end.

Shy (Once Bitten, Twice Shy #2) By: Noelle Marie

(N) If Katerine thought her life would get any easier in the months following her realization that Bastian was her mate, she was wrong. But dealing with the man's hot and cold behavior - it was like he had two times of the month - and surviving the Recruiting Rites were pieces of cake compared to the fierce emotional storm that envelopes her when a secret - a lie - is revealed that turns everything Katherine thought she knew on its head.
Once betrayed, its hard to bring herself to trust again.
Once bitten, its hard not to be shy.

While Bitten, the first book in this series held my attention Shy, not so much. I just couldn't get into Shy and found it to be a bit of a lackluster.

Bitten (Once Bitten, Twice Shy #1) By: Noelle Marie

(N) Bastian had to have been the most handsome man that Katherine had ever met. It really was unfortunate that he was also the most stubborn, controlling, downright infuriating jackass she'd ever known as well. Oh, and there was the fact that he was a werewolf - a werewolf who has bitten her.
Sixteen-year-old Katherine Mayes had never believed in mythological creatures like werewolves or mermaids - certainly not those sparkly vampires that her friend Abby was obsessed with, even when she's bitten by a massive animal after a reckless night of teenage adventure and her body begins to change in mystifying way, she can't force herself to believe in what she's convinced is impossible. Little does she realize, she's been infected with a disease a little more permanent than the rabies she feels fortunate to have not contracted - lycanthropy.
Her fierce denial is soundly shattered, however, when she is simultaneously saved and kidnapped by Bastian and his pack. Forced to leave small-town Iowa behind and adjust to their way of life in a hidden society, Katherine must also deal with fighting the pull she feels towards the man - or wolf, rather - who has bitten her and disrupted her life so completely.

I fully went into reading Bitten not thinking that I would like it. The only reason I was even willing to read Bitten was because it was free. Even though I've read free books before and loved them I didn't think that this would be one of those times, and I was right. While I didn't wholeheartedly like Bitten the more I read, the more I started to get into it. And by the end of the story I couldn't wait to read what happens in the next book.

Mackenzie (Heritage Bay Series Book 2) By: M.A. Foster

(N) For every action, there's a reaction. Or in Cole's case, a consequence. One night. One party. One girl. One time. One unforeseen tragedy. Two shattered hearts. Two lives changed forever.

There were times when it felt as though Mackenzie was lagging but at the same time I didn't want to stop reading. And that says a lot about a book, when even though it's not your favorite or the best read you still cannot put it down. Something else that bothered me while reading Mackenzie was there were just so many people, so many people were being introduced and were somehow connected to this person or that person and after a while it all just became too much. At that point I stopped caring about how everyone was connected. I get in connecting everyone and introducing so many characters it lines up the possibility for future stories, but this was just too much.

One Wild Night By: A.L. Jackson & Rebecca Shea

(N) Kaylee Rose Burton, kindergarten teacher, has never been a believer in fantasies. Living in L.A. her entire life, she knows the glitz and glam of Hollywood is just an illusion. That is until she stumbles head first into the arms of Hollywood's most eligible bachelor.
It was just another day on the red carpet for Paxton Myles, until a blue-eyed beauty literally stumbles at his feet. A single glimpse in her innocent eyes and he knows he has to have her. After one night of unbridled passion, Kaylee slips away to life her quiet life, but the paparazzi has other ideas.

I wasn't prepared for this book to be as short as it was. The story seemed to be over before it really ever begun. I wanted to like One Wild Night but it was much shorter than I realized and it seemed as though the whole story was going by quickly. For me short stories can go either way and this one just didn't make the cut, everything was just too fast and there didn't seem to be much there in terms of story line. Overall, this is a book that can be skipped over.

Co-Ed By: Rachel Van Dyken

(N) Four guys. Constant moaning. And a revolving door across the college suite she somehow ended up in because her first name is Shawn. They don't discriminate. Girls, guys, grandmas, plants (okay maybe not plants) all walks of life stroll in stressed to the brim, and leave so satisfied she's wondering what sort of talents lie behind that door. Her roommate calls them the Pleasure Ponies. But the rest of the college campus? They just call them the new face of Wingmen Inc. A paid for relationship service that makes big promises.
Breakup? They'll glue you back together again. Depressed? They have the magic pill. Lonely? Just spend a few minutes while they rub you down and you'll forget all about it. And broken hearts? Well, that's their specialty. They'll fix you. For a price.
Shawn swore she wouldn't get involved. But apparently they like a challenge, and a girl who doesn't put up with their BS is basically like waving a red flag in front of a bull. They. All. Charged. But one holds her attention above the rest.
Knox Tate looks like a Viking - and getting pillaged is starting to look more appealing by the day. Though he's hiding something - all of them are. And the closer she gets. The more she realizes that some things are left better in the past.

Going into Co-Ed I wasn't sure what to expect and I have to I was pleasantly surprised with how everything turned out. I thought it was going to be about one thing based on the stories synopsis and it turned out to be something entirely different. And that's one of the things I like about this book, that things didn't turn out like I expected them to. That's what you want in a book, to go into it with this preconceived notion of what it's about and finding something different instead.

The Kissing Booth By: Beth Reekles

 (N) Meet Rochelle "Elle" Evans; pretty, popular - and never been kissed. Meet Noah Flynn; badass, volatile - and a total player.
When Elle and her best friend Lee decide to run a kissing booth at their school's Spring Carnival, Elle locks lips with Noah, Lee's off-limits older brother, and Elle's life gets turned upside down. Her head says to keep away, but her heart wants to draw closer. This romance seems far from a fairy tale.

Not sure if you if any of you are aware of this or not but the movie version of this book is about to be released on Netflix in a few days. And because of this I felt it was only right to re-read this book and write a review on it before the movie comes out.
Just like when I read this book the first time I could not seem to put it down. While the story did seem to get a little slow at the end it was still a good read. I cannot wait to watch this movie when it comes out and I suggest you check out this book and soon to be movie as well.

Seducing Cinderella (A Fighting for Love Novel #1) By: Gina L. Maxwell

(N) Mixed martial arts fighter Reid Andrew's chance to reclaim his title as light heavyweight champ is shattered when he's injured only months before the rematch. To make sure he's healed in time, his trainer sends him to recuperate under a professional's care - Reid's best friend's little sister, all grown up.
Disorganized and bookish Lucie Miller needs some professional help of her own. She'd do anything to catch the eye of a doctor she's crushed on for years, so when Reid offers seduction lessons in exchange for 24/7 conditioning for the biggest fight of her carer, Lucie jumps at the chance.
Soon Reid finds himself in the fight for his life...winning Lucie's heart before she gives it to someone else.

It's been a while since I've read Seducing Cinderella so when I decided to pick it up again I figured why not do a review on it. For most of Seducing Cinderella I could not put it down, it was just when I got towards the end where I was like okay I'm ready for this to be done. That's not to say that this wasn't a good read it just wasn't something that held my attention from beginning to end.

Twice Bitten (Argeneau #27) By: Lynsay Sands

(N) For someone who's been around for over a hundred and forty years, immortal Elspeth Argeneau hasn't done a whole lot of living. Now that she's moved away from her controlling mother, she's tracking down rogue vampires and enjoying some overdue freedom. A fling would be fun. A life mate can wait. Yet to Elspeth's surprise, her landlady's hot grandson checks both boxes.
Wyatt fell instantly in love with Elspeth fours years ago. He's stunned to run into her again, especially as she has no memory of him. Then again, there are a lot of things about Elspeth that don't make sense, like the miraculous speed with which her wounds heal. And the chemistry that transforms every touch into an explosion of desire. With mysterious "accidents" besieging Elspeth, the ex-Special Forces soldier appoints himself her bodyguard. But time is running out to uncover the truth about her enemies - and rediscover the man determined to love her for eternity.

Twice Bitten, proved to me why I keep continuing on with this series. For every book that in this series that I tolerate there's another one right around the corner that I just cannot seem to put down. With each page turn I couldn't wait to find out what happened next and managed lose track of time because I was so invested with this story. It's stories like this as to why I keep coming back to this series.

A Beautiful Evil (Gods & Monsters #2) By: Kelly Keaton

(N) When Ari first arrived in the dilapidated city of New 2, all she wanted was to figure out who she was. But what she discovered was beyond her worst nightmare. Ari is a descendant of Medusa and can already sense the evil growing inside her - a power the goddess Athena will stop at nothing to possess.

Ari is determined to defeat Athena, but time is running out. With no other options, Ari must unleash the very thing she's afraid of: herself.

A Beautiful Evil, is the second book in the Gods and Monsters series and just like with the previous book I could not put this book down. If you haven't given this series a read than I suggest you do.

Darkness Becomes Her (Gods & Monsters #1) By: Kelly Keaton

 (N) Ari can't help feeling lost and alone. With teal eyes and freakish silver hair that can't be changed or destroyed, Ari has always stood out. And after growing up in foster care, she longs for some understanding of where she came from and who she is.
Her search for answers uncovers a message from her long dead mother: Run. Ari can sense that someone, or something, is getting closer than they should. But it's impossible to protect herself when she doesn't know what she's running from or why she is being pursed.
She knows only one thing: she must return to her birthplace of New 2, the lush rebuilt city of New Orleans. Upon arriving, she discovers that New 2 is very...different. Here, Ari is seemingly normal. But every creature she encounters, no matter how deadly or horrifying, is afraid of her.
Ari won't stop until she knows why. But some truths are too haunting, too terrifying, to ever be revealed.

I first read Darkness Becomes Her years ago and wanted to give it another read. Just like years ago I could not put this down. This is still a book worth reading.

Just an Illusion - Unplugged (The Illusion Series #4) By: D. Kelly

(N) Sawyer Weston is cocky and arrogant. With his sinful smile and sexy dimples, he's gotten his way most of his life. Infamous for his one-night stands and moves between the sheets, the lead singer for Bastards and Dangerous has never considered relationships - until he meets her. With her curvy body, sarcastic mouth, and uncanny ability to put Sawyer in his place, Amelia Greyson has captured his heart. She can see into his soul and knows what he truly wants from life. Sawyer has a problem, though - she's dating his twin brother Noah. Although he wants her with every breath he takes, Sawyer and Noah's complicated history prevents him from making a move on her.

Going into Just an Illusion - Unplugged I wasn't sure how much I was going to like it, with this series it could have gone either way. I didn't enjoy reading book one in this series, skipped book two all together but loved book three so much that I read it again repeatedly. With that being said, Unplugged kind of fell somewhere in between, it wasn't my favorite book in the series but there was something there that made me want to keep this book. I was always more a Sawyer girl than a Noah girl and this book made you fall for Sawyer even more, Sawyer always put his brother first even when others around him point out that sometimes it is okay to put yourself first. Unplugged isn't the end of Sawyer's story and I'm looking forward to reading more of it.

Entice (A Tangled Loved Duet Book #1) By: Stacey Lynn

(N) When the most difficult decision of Laurie Baker's life needed to be made, she took off for a weekend alone to weigh her pros and cons and consider all her options. What she didn't expect was to run face first into one more complication her life didn't need.
Distracting, sexy and British, Liam Parker offered Laurie exactly what she needed when she was desperate for attention. One night of pleasure. She wanted it. Craved it. And she took it.
And when the sunlight dawned and the lusty haze of one night of passion disappeared and reality revealed itself... Laurie returned home knowing that everything she had once believed, everything she has once loved and desired, was about to be tossed upside down and shaken in a way she could never image.

While reading Entice I was able to figure out what would happen next but then that ending came out of nowhere and now I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Behind His Lies By: Sandi Lynn

(N) Some would say Addison's life was perfect, but it's nowhere near so. Addison lost her father in a boating accident when she was eight years old. He was the love of her life and she was his princess. Addison never got over her father's death, even after her mother, Madeline, married her father's best friend. Edward. Addison was a big believer in fate. But fate had done her wrong and left her with an emptiness that could never be filled. Not only did Addison lose her father that day but she also lost her best friend.
After landing her dream job in New York City, she met a very sexy man named Andrew London. Addison fell heads over heels for Andrew instantly, and was sure that he was the one who could fill the emptiness Addison felt inside. Addison felt it every time the two were together, and he loved her like no other man had. Because of this she ignored the signs from the beginning as she was so immersed in him. Then one day, everything unfolded, and she found herself in a relationship that was built on nothing but deceit from the very start. Addison couldn't understand why he would do this to her until she discovered this truth behind the lies.

When I first started reading Behind his Lies, I figured this would be a book I would really enjoy considering I've read and fell in love with other books by this author. But sadly enough this book just did not live up to expectations. While some of the lies were a nice surprised others were easy enough to figure out.

Good Lies (A Wild Minds Novel) By: Charlotte West

(N) Addison Wanks, rock 'n' roll's favorite daughter, is good at keeping secrets. Secret one, she's responsible for the long-standing feud between her father's rock band, Wanks and Janks, and younger rock band Wild Minds. She may or may not have let Wild Minds' sexy bad boy lead singer Warren defile her backstage at a concert. Actually, she totally did. Secret two, she's supposed to be attending college but instead skips town to follow Wild Minds on their European tour. Addy adores Warren Price.
Secret three, Europe doesn't go so hot. Her sexy lead singer turned out to be king of the assholes. He's arrogant, demanding and controlling. Addy loathes Warren Price. Secret four, fast forward a few years and Addy is planning to attend her father's farewell tour when she hears the news - Wild Minds is back in the good graces of Wanks and Janks. The two bands will be headlining together. This is going to make avoiding Warren difficult, especially since it seems Warren doesn't want to be ignored. He also doesn't want a divorce. That's right, Addy is married to the Wild Minds front man. And if thinks weren't difficult enough, her father doesn't know that the two are married.

When I started reading Good lies I didn't think I would like it as much as I would. But once I started reading I couldn't seem to put it down.

Taken By: Logan Chance

(N) For Rhiannon, things change and sometimes not for the better. Xavier is no longer the maid's son or her best friend. Now he's wealthy and powerful - the dark don, in charge of one of the largest corporations in the world. She never expected the boy who always saved her to be the man who kidnaps her.
For Xavier, some things never change. Rhiannon is still as fiery and beautiful as the day he walked away. Now Xavier's back and ready to seek vengeance against the one man who wronged him. His rival and her father. If her father wants war, he'll get a war. Kidnapping his daughter is the key to Xavier's ultimate revenge.

Going into this I wasn't expecting to like Taken but I did. If you like a quick and easy read then I say give Taken a try.

(N) As the owner of The Wicked Horse, an elite sex club locked along the Vegas Strip, Jerico Jameson never spends the night alone. Gorgeous, ripped, and totally alpha, Jericho doesn't grant favors and will rarely give you the time of day - unless he wants you in his bed. So when the sister of his sworn enemy shows up asking for help, saying no should be easy. But when Jericho takes one look at her and sees an opportunity to help this beautiful woman while exacting revenge on her brother, he's not about to pass that up.
Beaten and bruised, Trista Barnes is running out of options, and Jericho is her last chance to get out of the mess she's in. She doesn't know why Jericho despises her brother so much, but as long as he can help, she doesn't care. Jericho offers her safety while opening her up to a sinful world she never knew existed.
As she succumbs to Jericho's erotic charm, Trista lets herself fall into the wicked world of guilt free pleasure with no regrets. Under his strong alpha hand, she blooms, and so does Jericho's possessiveness. But what happens when Trista finds out she was a pawn in Jericho's game all along, and that the price for his favor was steeper than she ever imagined - her heart.

I started reading Wicked Favor only because it was free, so I thought, why not let's give it a shot and needless to say I was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing. From the beginning I found myself intrigued with Wicked Favor and couldn't seem to put it down.

Reckless (An Enemies To Lovers Novel #2) By: Michelle Horst

(N) Mia Daniels has been in love with Logan West, her older brother's best friend since she was young. Her teenage years were spent dreaming about their future together. Logan taught Mia how to kiss, he stayed up late with her while she studied and he even escorted her to the prom. But Logan was a member of the Screw Crew and they only had one rule, Mia was off limits.
While Mia went to college, Logan, her bother, and the rest of the Screw Crew started working. Soon the secret messages between Mia and Logan stopped and Mia lost her first love before it even had a chance.
Mia has spent the last four years trying to forget the only man that she'll ever love. Just as she starts to make a life for herself, guess who comes barging back into her life.

What started out as a good read lost it's value and soon I was just waiting for Reckless to be over which was such a let down considering how much I like the first book in this series.

Dirt (Evergreen #1) By: Cassia Leo

(N) Jack and Laurel had everything. Then, in one brutal instant, the universe tilted on its side, discarding Jack and Laurel into black nothingness. Now Laurel's once loving and adoring husband is an a**hole. And the only way Jack and Laurel now know to communicate is when their either fighting or f**king.
With nothing else to lose Laurel writes Jack a goodbye letter and heads for Portland where she quickly meets a neighbor who helps her get a job. This new neighbor  - hot, tattooed ex-solider Isaac Evans - is complicated. Nevertheless, the two form a fast friendship, bonding over their mutual desire to create something beautiful from the wreckage of their lives.
But despite the distance between Jack and Laurel, they are still trying to make things work - fighting and f**king dirtier than ever. And Jack doesn't appreciate Laurel's new friendship with Isaac, not one f**king bit.

When I first started reading Dirt I was really into it but then as time went on I found my mind drifting while I was reading. I originally pushed these thoughts aside and blamed it on already knowing what book I wanted to read next, or should I say what book I wanted to reread next. But as the story when on I still couldn't get into it and only kept reading because I was already so close to the end. By the time I actually finished reading Dirt I was happy it was over but at the same time I still had some unanswered questions and the only way to get those answers would be to read the next book. Knowing that if I wanted to find out what happened that I would have to read more of this story leaves things up in the air for me and I really have to give it some thought before deciding if I really want to read the next book or not.

Dirty Filthy Rich Love (Dirty Duet #2) By: Laurelin Paige

(N) Sabrina has discovered Donovan Kincaid's secret. It's dirty and filthy and rich as he is - and it haunts Sabrina as much as he ever did. Even after knowing what she knows now, she still wants to talk to Donovan, to touch him. But there's an ocean between them, and Sabrina isn't sure it can be crossed with something as easy as a phone call or a plane ride. Yet she's willing to try.
Donovan doesn't know this yet, but this time Sabrina's the one with the power. And maybe - just maybe - if the air were cleared and all their secrets bared, there could still be a chance for Sabrina and Donovan.

Because I enjoyed reading Dirty Filthy Rich Men so much I couldn't wait to read Dirty Filthy Rich Love. And while I did find Dirty Filthy Rich Love to be a good read it wasn't nearly as good as the first book in the series.

Rounding Third By: Michelle Lynn

(N) Cosby was destined for stardom. From the age of seven, he was an all-star. Parents praised him and coaches worshiped him. The older he got, girls begged for him. He was Beltline's basbeall God, guaranteed to put his small town on the map.
Then, one night change everything and that future that Cosby had worked so hard for, had vanished. The legend was laid to rest, Cosby has given up his scholarship and fled Beltline, leaving the girl he loved behind. But now he's back.
Cosby and Ella were together for years before everything changed that night. In this two years since, Cosby is still battling with what happened that night. He lost his scholarship and is starting over thanks to his baseball coach.
Ella and Cosby never stopped loving each other but with the incident and the small town (they came from) gossip working against them it's hard trying to see these two work to make things work when so many things are working against them.

While Rounding Third started out as a good read as I got closer to the end then things started to go down and my interest just wasn't there anymore. And I just couldn't and still can't seem to understand why so many people like this book.

Beautiful Sky By: Ashley Blake

(N) There's this thing called chemistry, which can't be explained, it's either there or it's not and it can't be denied. For Skylar Miller chemistry was the one thing she didn't consider when she hatched her perfect plan for her freshman year of college: study hard, make new friends and stay away from boys. Still healing from an unforgivable betrayal, the last thing she needed was to see the gorgeous lead singer of Sonic Blaze belting out lyrics to her from that stage. He was tall, dark and sexy; everything she should run from, but didn't want to.
Her world is turned upside down the night of her dorm meeting when she looks up to see the lead singer of the band introducing himself to the room as their Resident Advisor. College senior, Jonathan Hunter, is even more gorgeous than she remembered and he seems to have eyes only for her. When she finds out he is the son of Joshua Hunter, Billionaire CEO of Hunter International, all of her insecurities rise to the surface.

I've read Beautiful Sky multiple times before and yet again I could not seem to put this book down. Beautiful Sky is definitely one I would recommend giving a read.
