The Crown (The Selection #5) By: Kiera Cass

(N) When Eadlyn was first told that she would be holding her own Selection she didn't believe that there was any way that she would fall in love with one or any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition just counting down the days until she could send them all home.
As the selection continues Eadlyn still finds herself unsure on if she'll find the same fairytale ending that her parents had twenty years ago. But as she becomes more and more forced into the spotlight Eadlyn begins to realize that she doesn't want to be in the spotlight alone. And as more time goes on a surprising suitor finds his way into her heart and soon Eadlyn must make an impossible choice between what she must do and what she wants to do. A choice Eadlyn never thought that she would have to make.
In the end I was pretty surprised with Eadlyn's choice of who she wanted to be her husband. I had this whole idea that it would be one person throughout the first book and then with this book everything completely changed and it turned out to be someone completely different, someone unexpected. I'll give the author props here for doing the unexpected but overall I still have the say that the original story, The Selection, was a better story.

White Tiger (Shifters Unbound #8) By: Jennifer Ashley

(N)  For twenty years, Kendrick a white tiger Shifter (rare in the shifter community) has been the Guardian and leader of un-Collared Shifters. These shifters have spent their lives living in secret and in fear of being forced into Shiftertowns. When Kendrick's un-Collared Shifters are discovered they are forced to flee and in doing so get separated from each other. Now Kendrick is more desperate than ever to protect his shifters. His only salvation is with a beautiful stranger.
Lonely waitress Addison Price is has been working at a diner in the middle of nowhere for years now. And in that time Addison has seen her fair share of unusual drifters come and go but none of them has captivated and intimidated her quite the same like the imposing man who happens to walk around with a broadsword on his back. Then one night when he risks everything to protect her, Addison's fears for him turn into something more. Now Addison's change of feelings has caused her to want to learn more about her savior and the desire to save him in the same way that he saved her. This desire makes her all the more willing to help this crushingly handsome tiger and his cubs in their quest to continue living in freedom.
This was yet another hit for the Shifters Unbound series. At first I was a little unsure while reading this but after a while things started to turn up and I could not put it down. So while this book does have a slow start it does get better and it does manage to keep you interested in reading more. Yet again I cannot wait until the next book in this series comes out.

Bound By Honor (Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles 1) By: Cora Reilly

(N) Aria Scuderi was born into one of the leading Mob families, the older she gets the more she struggles with trying to find her own path in a world where no choices are given. When Aria was only fifteen her parents arranged for her to be married to Luca "The Vice" Vitiello, the oldest son of the head of the New York Family when Aria became of age as a way to ensure peace between the two families.
Now at eighteen, the day that Aria has been dreading is finally here, her wedding to Luca. Aria is terrified of marrying Luca, a man she hardly knows and one with the nickname 'The Vice" given that name for crushing a man's throat with his bare hands. Luca might be one of the most sought after men in New York thanks to his looks, wealth and power but Aria is not one of those society girls who throws themselves at him. Luca isn't just a bad boy he's a cold blooded killer, danger and arrogance radiates of of him. In Aria's world no matter how handsome the exterior there is still a monster within, a monster who could easily kill you without even breaking a sweat.
There's would be only one way to escape this marriage, it would be to run away. Aria would have to leave everything and everyone she's ever known behind and Aria cannot even bare the thought of not being able to see her family ever again.
Despite all her fears Aria goes through with the marriage. Aria has grown up with men like Luca all her life, she knows that even those with the coldest of hearts has a heart and Aria has every intention of working her way into Luca's.
I first went into this book just reading it and not expecting much because I did get it for free but every so often a free book comes along that surprises me and this one was it. Once I started reading I found myself unable to put this book down and managed to finish it in one day. I never seemed to want to put this book down and when I did it became very hard to find a place where I could leave and not want to immediately come back to find out what would happen next. This is defiantly a book that I would say to give a read.

Ths Summer Games: Settleing the Score By: R.S. Grey

(N) Andie is an Olympic rookie who's about the play in her first games. Andie has spent most of her live on the field in her cleats instead of between the sheets like other girls her age. For the last twenty-one years Andie's Friday nights has consisted of her blocking shots on the field instead of going out and taking shots at parties. But now that she's in Rio she's ready to experience for herself if all the rumors she's heard about the Olympic Village are true: the athletes are all sex crazed maniacs, the committee passes out condoms like candy, and the games continue long after all the medals have been handed out.
As Andie begins walking this new line between rumor and reality she walks right in the same path as Frederick Archibald. Frederick's a decorated Olympic swimmer and owner of a sexy British accent. He's also unavailable and the saying "it's complicated" doesn't even begin to explain how complicated his relationship and life really is. In other words Frederick Archibald is 100% off limits.
It doesn't matter how good-looking he is, or how much Andie cannot seem to stop thinking about him, Andie fully intends to keep her head clear and her focus on the soccer field. But the Olympic village is small and everywhere Andie goes there Frederick happens to be.
I found The Summer Games to be a good book, not a great one but a good one. For the most part it held my attention and I was curious to see what would happen next. So I would say that I would recommend giving this book a read through.

One With You (Crossfire 5) By: Sylvia Day

(N)  In this final book of the Crossfire series,  after falling in love Gideon and Ava are finally married. But while marrying each other was easy staying together is more of a challenge especially when there's still so much damage between the two.  Both Gideon and Ava have shared their deepest and ugliest secrets with one another, they both suffer from their pasts in different ways. Both have lived separate lives when it comes to family and Gideon is having to learn what it means to really share Ava with those around them, specifically her close family. But this isn't the only thing that could come between the two newlyweds.
On With You is the fifth and final book in the Crossfire series and it is also the longest book in the series, meaning that this one took a little longer to read. This book was also told through both the point of views of  Eva and Gideon. There seemed to be a lot going on in this story that didn't really seem to apply all that much to Eva and Gideon's relationship. For example and possible spoiler, the story line involving Eva's mother's past. This part of the story line seemed to really have nothing to do with anything else that was going on in the story. It really seemed as though this part of the story was just there to take up space.
I really wasn't into this book and it took forever to read. I felt I was just reading this book because I invested so much time in this series and I just wanted to see how the series ended. But I feel as though this series just dragged on longer than it really needed to and that there were stories that didn't really need to be told but were. And when it came to the end of this book and series it seemed as though this book just ended. I thought the end was going to be a little different with maybe an epilogue of a couple years into Gideon and Ava's relationship giving the reader an idea of how their relationship would be years from now. But that wasn't how the book ended and I was a little upset with that.
Overall I would have to say that the only reason to really read this book is if you already read the other books in the series and really want to know how to book ends.
