Playing a Player By: Ivy Smoak

(N) The last of Keira's single friends just got married leaving Keira now roommate-less. When Rory shows up at Keira's door for an interview, she's more than a little surprised to find out that Rory is a guy. Living with a man wasn't exactly what she had in mind. But when all of the other applicants don't seem to be a good fit, she can't help but let her mind wander back to Rory. Maybe Rory's just the kind of roommate Keira needs.
Rory doesn't do relationships. He's been burned before and he hasn't had anything more than a one night stand in a long time. And he's good at what he does, he's charming, confident, and completely off limits.
Keira can't seem to get her mind off of Rory and Rory doesn't seem to want anything more than friendship with Keira. There's only one way for Keira to get Rory to really notice her and that's by playing the player.

I found Playing a Player to be a good read and while there were some dry parts it to it was overall good. While I did enjoy reading this book I find that it was better as a one time read instead of one of those books you can read over and over again and never grow tired of. Either way I would still recommend reading this book.

Learn To Fly (Double Blind Study #1) By: Heidi Hutchinson

(N) Lenny Evans felt like her life was suffocating her. She would do just about anything to change that, which is who she ended up taking a job that landed her on tour with the biggest rock band in the world.
The plan was simple: get a job, get out of town, and don't get attached. Lenny never met anyone like the members of Double Blind Study and they easily adopted her into their own makeshift family. Now, Lenny finds herself caring too deeply for these tattooed misfits, with each day Lenny grows closer to the guys and closer to revealing her true past and everything that she's running from.

Going into this book I thought Learn to Fly was going to be a good read based on the synopsis but once I started reading I realized that it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I could only make it about half way through before I finally just stopped reading. It wasn't that Learn to Fly was so much a bad read as it was a slow and long read. I found that I didn't seem any more invested in the story as I was halfway through compared to the beginning. This was a long read that seemed to just drag on longer than it needed to without much ever really seeming to be going on.
Learn to Fly was not my kind of book and one that I cannot recommend reading.

Commander in Chief (White House #2) By: Katy Evans

(N) They fell in love during Matt's campaign. During that time the stakes were high no one could know about their affair. If their relationship was found out it could ruin Matt's reputation just as things were starting to go so well for him. Now Matt's the President of the United States of America. Once it was announced that Matt won the presidency the two decided that this secret affair could no longer exist so Matt stayed in the US getting ready to become the next president and Charlotte went off to spend a couple months in Europe.
But now Charlotte's back and just in time for Matt's inauguration. Those months away not seeing or speaking to each other did nothing to stop the feelings these two have for one another. And now that Charlotte's back Matt isn't letting her go so easily. Matt wants Charlotte by his side, not just in private but in public as well. He wants Charlotte with him in the White House.
Charlotte knows that if she goes with Matt to the White House it means her life will never be normal again and any type of privacy will be forgotten. But Charlotte has already lost her heart to Matt once and isn't sure she could just walk away from him again.

Commander in Chief is the second book in the White House series and this book was a hit for Katy Evans. I found myself unable to put it down and couldn't wait to find out what happened next.  When I read the first book in this series, Mr. President, I wasn't that into it but I still wanted to read the next book. Because I wasn't sure how exactly I was going to feel about this one I had some doubts before I started reading. And I'm happy to say that I was completely wrong about those feelings I found Commander in Chief to be so much better than Mr. President. If you're like me and didn't like the first book that much but are still thinking about reading Commander in Chief  then I highly recommend reading it, you will not regret it. I went from not being really sure if I liked this series to falling in love with it and that's all because of how this one played out.

Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss #1) By: Nalini Singh

(N) Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media's harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life and never have to deal with the spotlight again. She wanted no fame, no pain, and nothing out of the ordinary. Then Molly meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like sin and a touch that could become an addiction.
It was only supposed to be for one night. Fox promised Molly one night of scorching heat and dangerous pleasure which only leads Molly to extending their one-night stand to a one-month fling. Once the month was up Fox will be gone forever, his life never intersecting with Molly again. A sinful and sensual experience all with an expiration date. With the end leading to no ties and no regrets. But too late Molly realizes it isn't only her body that becomes addicted to Fox but her heart as well.

Rock Addiction was another one of those books that I wanted to enjoy reading but I just couldn't get into it. I got about halfway through the book before I finally just stopped reading. While Rock Addicton is a long book there didn't really seem to be much going on with the story. Also the story seemed to be moving at a rather slow pace so only got about 40% through the book before I finally just had enough of it and stopped reading. This is not a book I can recommend reading.

Up In Flames (Rosemary Beach #13) By: Abbi Glines

(N)   The next book in the Rosemary Beach series is here and this one is all about Nan.

Nan Dillion is known as the bad girl of Rosemary Beach. She's been called so many vile names under the sun and there's only a handful of people in Rosemary Beach who actually like her. While some of her reputation is deserved-she never had anything to worry about but maintaining her perfect figure and splitting her Daddy's private jet with her brother Rush. But Nan is far from happy. Rush has another kid on the way and doesn't have time to play catch up with his sister. Grant, the last guy she truly cared about chose to be with her half-sister Harlow instead of her. And Harlow, who never truly got over the way Nan treated her when she first came into town remains distant.
So when Major asks her out Nan jumps at the chance to date the gorgeous charmer. Though she doesn't know much about the sweet-talking Texan and while it's clear that he doesn't want to be exclusive, dating Major seems better than hanging out with vapid socialites or staying home alone to watch Netflix. For a while Nan is able to deal with Major's playboy ways but after he burns her one too many times Nan takes off for an impromptu wild weekend in Vegas. There Nan meets Gannon, a darkly seductive and mysterious stranger who knows just how to handle her.
When it seems like Nan has finally gotten over Major he comes back around asking for a second chance. Nan has one man begging her for another chance and another Gannon, haunting her dreams leaving Nan to decide who she should give her heart to. But what Nan doesn't seem to realize is that these players are involved in a much bigger game-and they're both always two steps ahead of her.

Before reading Up in Flames I wasn't sure how much I was going to enjoy reading this because Nan has always been a character that I disliked throughout the entire series. So going into this I knew reading it could be a challenge. With that being said I actually enjoyed really Up in Flames. Nan's story actually turned out really well and had me at multiple times wanting to keep reading. While there were times that the story seemed to drag on for a bit and become a little boring for the most part it was actually a surprisingly good read. With this book I was able to get a better understanding of Nan and begin to actually like her as a character.

Cade (Le Beau Brothers Book 1) By: V.A. Dold

(N) Anna James is single again, finally after a bad marriage. In Anna's opinion men are self-centered and will never love a beautiful plus sized woman like her. All men that is except for her fantasy man who Anna has been meeting her in dreams for the past five years. Anna never expected to meet her fantasy man in real life and she really never expected for him to be an alpha shifter.
Cade Le Beau isn't what he seems. He's a billionaire wolf shifter. Six months ago Cade missed his chance to meet his fantasy woman in the flesh but now after wanting for so long Cade finally got his second chance. But just when he thinks all is good his fantasy woman is threatened by the local mob boss and her ex-husband. Now Cade has just forty-eight hours to deal with the threat once and for all or risk losing her once again.

Cade seemed to be one of those books for me that I just really couldn't get into. That being said it was also one of those books that I continue to skim through till the end of the book because I did want to find out how it all ended. I don't know why I keep seeming to want to read these types of books all the way till the end when I know I don't like the book or story line but for some reason I do. Needless to say I will not be continuing on with this series and think that this might be one worth skipping.
