(N) Ashleigh has two best friends Jason and Dean. The three of them are like family, they all live on the same street and spend all of their time together. Jason and Dean are there to comfort Ashleigh when her parents are fighting all the time at night. Jason and Dean are her real family not her parents. But when the day comes when Ashleigh's parents sit her down and tell her that they are moving away it breaks her heart. On the day they are supposed to be moving Ashleigh tries to make a run for it with Jason and Dean only for her father to drag her to the car with the boys fighting to get her back.
From that day forward Ashleigh has been a changed girl. She hates her father for making her leave behind her two best friends behind and no longer has any respect for him. Ashleigh defies her father at every turn. Ashleigh has hated her father for years and it only becomes worse once she catches him catching on her mother and records it as proof. Ashleigh's father promises to change his ways so she keeps quiet wanting to make her mother happy and she begins to slowly let her mother back in.
Ashleigh only has two people in her life she can count on her one is her best friend and the other is her boyfriend, an up and coming rock star. Slowly Ashleigh has been letting her boyfriend in something she hasn't done in years but when her mom throws her dad a party Ashleigh finds her father having sex with another woman in his study and her boyfriend having sex with her best friend in the back garden. Ashleigh is devastated and now no longer wants anything to do with either her father or her boyfriend. She spends the rest of her time getting ready to finish high school and heading off to college.
On her first day at college she and her new roommate go out to check out some guys when her heart literally stops, Ashleigh would recognize those eyes anywhere, it's Jason and Dean her two childhood friends all grown up. Jason and Dean both recognize Ashleigh right away and after a tearful reunion they all go back to the guys apartment when there are pictures everywhere of the guys with Tina (another of Ashleigh's childhood friends). Ashleigh's heart breaks when she sees these pics, that should have been her and she knows that she's been replaced. The boys are able to convince Ashleigh that they could never replace her but with the more time the three spend together the more jealous Tina gets and convinces Ashleigh that at she will eventually have to choose between Jason and Dean and that is not something that Ashleigh could ever do.
I really enjoyed reading this book I managed to finish it in no time at all. This is definitely a book that I would recommend giving a try.
