Until Friday Night By: Abbi Glines

(N) This is the first book in a brand new series by Abbi Glines. To everyone around him West Ashby is that guy: the cocky, popular, handsome football god who could have anyone he wanted. But while he puts on this facade of the Big Man on Campus West is really dealing with something serious that is tearing him up inside. West is having to watch his father slowly die from cancer all the while keeping it a secret from everyone around them.
Two years ago Maggie Carleton's life forever changed after her father murdered her mother. Now after telling the police what she witnessed that night she has stopped speaking and hasn't spoken since then. Maggie has stayed quiet all this time keeping her sorrows to herself and hiding away from the rest of the world.
As West's pain becomes to much for him to handle and knows that he needs someone to confide in he opens up to the one person he knows won't say anything to anyone. West expects that talking about his dad will help bring some relief to him what he doesn't expect is the quiet girl to talk back to him or to start telling him about her own sorrows. The two begin to grow closer and form a connection over their mutual grief something that no one else around them can even begin to understand.
I've read a few books by this author before and there seems to be a pattern with these books being either a hit or a miss with me and this book was definitely a miss for me. I just really could not get into this book. It could be because one of the main characters doesn't even talk to anyone for most of the book or at all really. Or it could just be the story line itself but either way I did not like this book at all. And is not a book that I could say is worth reading.
