(N) Dante Notte never expected that when the day came where he would meet his life mate that she would first run over him with an RV. Injured with a punctured lung and broken ribs Dante boards the RV but with no driver in sight tries to recover in the back. What Dante never expected was the full-body shock he receives when he first meets Mary Winslow, the RV driver who ran him over. Before getting run over Dante was running from his pursuers while also trying to save his twin brother from the people who kidnapped them. But now that he's found Mary and his pursuers know they are together he will do everything is his power to keep Mary safe. But it's a challenge when Mary is so stubborn and will not easily follow his orders.
Mary was just on her way to one of the campgrounds she visits every year when she runs over something. When she goes to look outside she doesn't see anything so she keeps driving telling herself she will call the cops at her next stop. What Mary doesn't expect to find in the back of the RV when she stops is a naked, injured, and insanely gorgeous younger man laying in her room. The man insists that they belong together and while Mary cannot deny the connection she feels for this young man she won't let herself believe it. Now the men who captured his twin are after them and Mary will have to trust her gut and trust this immortal stranger in order to survive.
Runaway Vampire is book number twenty-three in the Argeneau series. The books in this series seem to be either a hit or a miss for me and Runaway Vampire was definitely a hit. I could not put this book down and kept wanting to read what happened next. This book held my attention throughout the entire time I was reading it. I definitely recommend reading this book and this series.
