Kiro's Emily By: Abbi Glines

(N) This book is a short novella in the Rosemary Beach series, this novella has actually been out for a while now but I just finally got around to reading it. I am kind of disappointed in myself for waiting so long to read this novella because once I started reading this book I just could not put it down and before I knew it it was over.
If you have read the Rosemary Beach series in order then you know that Kiro is Harlow, Mase, and Nan's father and band mate with Rush's father. This story is about Kiro and takes places years back in the year 1992 where at the time no one is hotter than lead singer Kiro Manning from the famous rock group Slacker Demon. Right now Kiro and the Slacker Demons have a multi-platinum record, sold-out concerts, are at the top of the charts, and have bucketfuls of money allowing the Slacker Demons to have anything and anyone they want. One night during in after part Kiro sees a dark-haired, conservative beauty his first thought is "who is she? And she can't really be as innocent as she appears." Kiro has always loved a good challenge but this time the challenge is a girl who does not want to get involved with a rock god.
That first night Kiro lets her go but he cannot forget about her. And when the two meet again Kiro knows that this time he will not give her up so easily. While the world worships Kiro, he worships the one girl who is everything that he needs and everything he shouldn't have. She is the only girl he has ever loved, his Emily.
I knew going into this story that it was going to be a quick read but I was still surprised when the ending came. I think this is mostly because this novella just ended out of nowhere and because it skipped from the year 1992 to present time. Although this was a great read and one I would not suggest skipping in the series. I would have like to see more about what happened after Emily's accident instead of the story briefly talking about the accident before jumping to years later when Kiro introduces Emily to their new grandchild.
