Mr. Beautiful (Up In The Air #4) By: R.K. Lilley

(N)  So I'm finally getting around to reading the final book in the Up In The Air series. This book was told through both James' and Stephan's points of views on some of the things that happened in the first three books of the series. It was noted that this book was a continuation of the series but it's really more of a retelling of the first three books in the series just told through the males point of views with a little extra thrown in at the end. Since Mr. Beautiful is the telling of James' and Stephan's points of views of the first three books there are times/chapters where the same situation is told twice both through their different perspectives. For example, what happened after the shooting that occurred towards the end of book three. The events that take place in the hospital are told through both James' point of view and Stephan's point of view, giving the reader a better understanding of what James and Stephen were going through at that time.
There was one thing that I did not like about this book. First I just want to point out that this book ends at about just under 70% which isn't a bad thing but I just wanted to point out that it was never mentioned that the book ended before 100%. The part that I really didn't like about this book was after the book was said to be over out of nowhere all these teasers for different books came in which was fine but then it went back to James' point of view like the book wasn't actually over. It was so confusing that after the first couple of teasers I gave up trying to figure out what was going on and just stopped reading the rest of the book. It seemed like towards the end of the book Lilley had the idea of putting teasers of other books she wrote in but it wasn't executed well at all, and ended up being just a big mess. Overall I think that this book isn't worth reading and doesn't really do much in contributing to the story.

Shaken - A Football Romance By: D.G. Whiskey

(N) Juliette refers to him as Cocky because he of his cocky attitude and she doesn't want to know his real name. They met on spring break five years ago and had a great time together. Juliette and Cocky had a perfect connection, the kind of connected that everyone wants to have. But they went to  different schools that were across the country from each other, so they decided they would only have  have this one week together. Even though they know they only have a week together that didn't make it any easier when it came time to leave and each go their separate ways.
Now five years later Juliette is a PhD candidate studying concussions with L.A.'s football team. Before starting the study Juliette had to sign a code of conduct stating that she wouldn't get involved with any of the players which wouldn't have been a problem for her if it wasn't for the team's new quarterback, Cocky.
To Travis Juliette will always be Sexy. Travis came to LA to win a championship, nothing else mattered. That was until he saw Sexy again. When they first met she wouldn't tell him her name so he called her Sexy. It was only supposed to be one night together but she ended up stealing his heart. Juliette thought that Travis would just forget about her once their spring break week was over but he never did. Now that she's back in his life Travis isn't going to let her go without a fight.

Shaken is yet another book that has a bonus book included in it. I have said this before but I am not the person that likes having the bonus books included, mostly because with the bonus books included you never get a sense of how much of the book you have left. These books also give you a false sense in just how long the book is if you are not aware of the bonus book. Also the bonus books are usually either books I already have in my library or books that I have no interest in reading.
As for the book Shaken itself this I found to start off on the right foot but as the book went on it started to bore me and towards the end of it I was just skimming through the whole thing just wanting to find out how it ended and how Travis and Juliette's relationship would eventually be found out because you know it was inevitable. While I won't give away how the league found out about Travis and Juliette's relationship I will say that the whole thing was anti-climatic. I thought that the author was going to go one way on how their relationship would be found out but the author decided to go a different way, and let's just say it wasn't a better way. This is a book that can really just be skipped.

Trust Honor Love (Blind Vows Book 1) By: J. M. Witt

(N) Trust Honor Love is about a martial experiment. Lucy Roberts is sick of the dating scene and especially what, or rather who she can never have, the Kerrigan brothers, specifically twins Will and Heath. A bad run in with Heath proves everything to Lucy that she already knew about him; he's not Will. Needing a change Lucy agrees to a new experiment, she lets of panel of experts pick out her future husband. And agrees to first meeting him when she reaches the alter.
Heathcliff Kerrigan is convinced that Lucy is meant to be his and not Will's. Lucy and Heath's family ties go back decades, just like his love for her. After his attempts to make her his go wrong he decides to let her go. Also needing something new Heath also agrees to be part of the same marriage experiment.
Trust has them taking new risks. Honor is what gets them down the aisle. And love will be their greatest test.

Trust Honor Love is told through three parts: trust, honor, and love. Each of these parts is told through three different ways.  Trust is told solely through Lucy point of view, honor through Heath's point of view and it ends with Love. Love is told through both Heath's and Lucy's point of views. This book was another surprise for me. I was not expecting this book to be as good as it was, it was definitely a pleasant surprise. But I do have to mention that towards the end of the book it did seem as though Witt put in some last minute unnecessary drama just for the sake of things and that little drama I could have done without. But besides that this book ended up being a good read and a book worth reading.

Craving Lucy (Lucy & Harris Book 2) By: Terri Anne Browning

(N) One kiss shared between friends can change everything. Now there's no going back, they can only move forward. Things between Lucy and Harris are different now and the only thing left to ask is; where do they go from there?

So I'm finally getting around to reading the next book in this series. The Lucy and Harris series is a spin-off series on The Rocker series. And I first want to say that I am a big fan of The Rockers series, my favorites books are the ones featuring the original five rockers. But while I loved reading those books this one just did not do it for me. While the first book in this series was a good read this one just did not cut it. I ended up just skimming through most of this book because it was just so boring. And then with that ending it was just wrong, I already knew that this book was going to end on a cliffhanger but the way it ended was still just so wrong.
Another issue I have is both with this book and with the series, from what I have seen from the fist two books that I have read is that this series could have just been told in one long book, maybe even two. I can safely say that between what happened in the last book and what happened in this one it all could have just been told in one book. But instead of just being one or even two books Lucy and Harris' story is being told in four parts, two novellas and one full length. The four books in the series  isn't even all that true because the third book in this series isn't even about Lucy and Harris. The third book is instead about Lucy and Harris' best friends and their relationship together. So needless to say I will not be coming on with this series and if you want to read a series by this author I say read The Rocker series instead.

Anti Stepbrother By: Tijan

(N) Summer Stoltz is a college freshman who has been crushing and pining for her stepbrother, Kevin along with the rest of the girls from her high school for years, long before her father married Kevin's mother. Coming to college meant that Summer could finally have a chance to be with Kevin. But things don't go according to plan, especially when Kevin ends up being a jerk. On her first night Summer ends up at a party where she meets one of Kevin's fraternity brothers, Caden. When Summer first meets Caden she labels him an *sshole. But over time Summer begins to realize that Caden is more than just the arrogant, smug, alpha that he appears to be. When Summer keeps running into Caden he's actually nice to her and Summer's option of Caden begins to change. There's is just something about Caden he's real, honest and isn't one to hold anything back. There more time they spend together the more these two become friends, real genuine friends.
Things between Caden and Summer begin to heat up the more time they spend together. For Caden hanging out with Summer calms him, something that is not easily done. For Summer being with Caden is bringing out a new person, someone who isn't so afraid of being honest. Caden soon realizes that he wants to be with Summer but he is not sure if Summer is really over her stepbrother. Meanwhile Summer does have actual feelings for Caden but convincing him that it has nothing to do with her stepbrother is easier said than done.

This was yet another hit for Tijan. For those of you who don't already know I am a huge fan of Tijan and her Fallen Crest series, and while Anti-Stepbrother is not a part of that series I read this book just because of how much I love this author. And I loved Anti-Stepbrother, in a way Caden kind of reminded me of Mason from the Fallen Crest series in a lot of ways. And this could be one of the reasons why I loved this book so much. But as much as it did remind me of the Fallen Crest series this book was still its own book and it was one that I could not put down. I found myself yet again staying up late at night, longer than I should have been because I just could not put this book down. If your a fan of Tijan or of the Fallen Crest series then this is the book for you.

Neighbor Dearest By: Penelope Ward

(N) After getting dumped the last thing Chelsea needed was to live next door to someone who reminded her of her ex-boyfriend Elec. But Damien is an even hotter version of Elec. Before getting to know her neighbor Chelsea gives him the name "Angry Artist" but his attitude isn't the only thing Chelsea doesn't like about him. It's also his two massive dogs that are keeping Chelsea up at night with their barking. It seemed as though Damien wanted nothing to do with Chelsea. That is until one night when Chelsea hears laughter coming through a hole in her bedroom wall. Damien has been listening to Chelsea's phone sessions with her therapist. The sexy artist next door has been listening to Chelsea as she divulged all her deepest secrets and insecurities. From there the two get to talking, Damien sets Chelsea straight with tips to get over her breakup, something her therapist had yet to do. Soon the two become friends but from the beginning Damien makes it clear that they could only be friends. Something that is made all the more hard when Chelsea begins falling for Damien anyways. As much as Damien pushes Chelsea away she knows that he feels the same way about her as she does about him. But you can only push a person for long before they begin to move away.

Neighbor Dearest is connected to Ward's other books Stepbrother Dearest and RoomHate. While these books are connected you do not have to read either book before reading this one. I just mention this because some of the characters and references that are mention in this book are directly connected to what happened in the other books that Ward has written. While you can read those books, if you choose not to read those books you are not missing another major from this one.
I found Neighbor Dearest to be such a good read I found myself at just under half way through the book wondering what else could happen in the book considering that so much did happen in the first half and I still had so much of the book left to go. At one point during the second half of the book one of the characters states, "it's like everything I thought I knew about this situation just went out the window." And this statement really describes how I felt after learning the truth as to why these two couldn't be together at first. I thought I knew why these two couldn't be together but then Ward came in and gave this curve ball as to way they couldn't be together. As good as this book was I do have to say that there was some slow parts towards the end of the book. I think it just lagged from the great first half of the book, but overall this was a great read. And I book that I really think people should read.
