Mr. President By: Katy Evans

(N) Charlotte first met the President's son (Matthew or Matt) when they were both young. Matt promised Charlotte that he would never run for president and she promised that if he ever did then she would be there to stand by his side.
Three terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton's presidential campaign arrives and it's the most thrilling opportunity that Charlotte has ever been a part of. While Charlotte doesn't have experience on her side she does have determination, determination to make a difference. And Matt is determined to win.
Focused on the goal of becoming the next president Matt is ruthless, persuasive, and true. All eyes are on him and his popularity is only growing with each day. With all eyes on Matt he has to stay focused on the election, focused and single. But Matt isn't making it easy for Charlotte on keeping their relationship strictly professional and despite the risk if the two are caught together, neither can resist the feelings that they share for one another.
The more time Matt and Charlotte spend together the more they begin to steal touches, glances, moments, and nights away. But while their connection may be undeniable the more time Charlotte and Matt spend together the more dangerous it is for her heart and his chances at winning the presidency.

I found Mr. President to be a good book not a great book but a good one. There were some times where this book held my attention but there were also other times where I felt as though things were dragging on a bit. Overall I would recommend reading this book and I do have to say that I am waiting to find out what happens next for Charlotte and Matt.

Lying and Kissing By: Helena Newbury

(N)  Lying and Kissing was originally published as the serial Undercover (Seduced, Conflicted and Betrayed) and can now be read as one full-length story.
Arianna is a self-proclaimed language geek working for the CIA. Arianna has been working a desk job for far too long and wants the chance to go out and be a field agent. When the opportunity arises for her to meet Luca, a Russian arms dealer and mobster, Arianna realizes just how far out of depth she really is.
Before she even gets a chance to grasp what her first mission is Arianna is on her way to Moscow with orders to "accidentally" run into Luca again. Arianna has one job, to seduce Luca and find out exactly what his plans are. There's just one problem Arianna can't seem to control herself whenever she is around Luca and if he ever finds out who she really is, she's dead.

This was yet another book that I could not put down. I'm glad that I was able to read this book as a standalone instead of a serial because I've never been a fan of serials unless they were already put together in one book. Either way I'm really glad that I've read this book and recommend it for others. Coming from someone who is not the biggest mobster book fan this book had just enough in it as well as the romance between Arianna and Luca throughout the entire book to really keep me entertained and not feel as though the whole book was around mob life. This book is definitely one you should give a try.

Like A F*cking Boss (Run The World Book 1) By: Quinn

(N) He's the boss while she's the booty call. During her last relationship Talia put everything she had into it but in return she got nothing. Now she's just trying to prove that she has what it takes to work among talented designers and architect for ARC Industries, trying to do everything she can to build a better future for herself. But then the new boss arrives, and that's when trouble follows. Now Talia finds herself becoming distracted by daydreams staring her boss Theo Solomon. But that's not Talia's only problem her smart mouth keeps seeming to pop up every time Theo's around.
Soon those daydreams aren't just becoming dreams but reality. Talia becomes Theo's booty call. But due to her past relationship Talia is hesitant to accept that she will never be anything more than a secret affair.

This book was a quick and easy read that was able to keep my attention for the whole book. With that being said the only thing I really didn't enjoy was it kind of ending pretty abruptly. It didn't end in a cliffhanger or anything like that but it just kind of ended. So it's left a little unclear if the next book in this series will be more of Theo and Talia or if Like a F*ucking Boss was it and the next book will focus on another couple. That being said I might just go ahead and read the next book in this series to find out.

Hudson (Fixed Book #4) By: Laurelin Paige

(N) We've read Alayna point of view on her relationship with Hudson and now it's Hudson's turn.
Hudson Pierce has lived a life that only few could imagine having. He's rich, has immense power and has never wanted for anything. But with all the things Hudson has he's never experienced love and has rarely seen examples of it from his dysfunctional family. Having never really seen or experienced love Hudson has always been intrigued by the notion of it. He's studied, controlled, and manipulated love. But it wasn't until he met Alayna Withers that Hudson finally understood what love really meant.
In Hudson, Hudson's past is revealed along with a more insightful look into the life long friendship between Hudson and Celia.

I've read the entire Fixed series and completely loved it. So because of how much I loved this series I just had to read this book when I found out that it was the series told through Hudson's perspective. As you could see I was pretty excited to read this book and really see what Hudson was about. And I'm more than a little disappointed to say that I couldn't even make it through this whole book before I had to put it down. I thought that the story was going to be told one way and it went a different way. Before getting into this I had already figured that this would be more than just a retelling of the first book or all three but what I wasn't expecting was for this book to keep switching with almost each chapter to before and after. The befores was a lot about his past before he met Alayna and the afters were somewhat of the retelling of the first three books from Hudson's perspective.
I've seen a lot of people give this book such a high ratings and reviews but I just couldn't do it, this book was just not for me.

A Beautiful Funeral (The Maddox Brothers #5) By: Jamie McGuire

(N) Eleven years to the day after eloping in Vegas with Abby, Special Agent Travis Maddox delivers his own vengeance and justice to mob boss Benny Carlisi. The Carlisis are Vegas' oldest and most violent crime family and murder of their boss the family is preparing to take vengeance not just against Travis or his Thomas (his older brother also working for the FBI) but the entire Maddox family.
The secret that Thomas and Travis have been keeping from their family for the past decade is about to be revealed which will lead to the Maddoxes being at odd with each others for the first time. While the Maddoxes are no strangers to dealing with loss this time there's more at risk for their families than ever before. As the lies begin to surface brothers turn on brothers, wives are taking sides, and each family member will have to choose - let the fear tears them all apart or let it make them stronger.

Beautiful Funeral is that last book in the Maddox Brothers series, and I was more than a little disappointed with how this book ended up playing out. The character's reaction is finding out the truth about Thomas and Travis' jobs just seemed like way too much. Then don't get me started on the ending, I knew going into this book with the word funeral in the title that it would only make sense for one of the characters to die but really that ending. It was all just a little too much for me and something that I really couldn't enjoy reading. Also as an added bonus each chapter was told from a different character's point of view, which made things a little hard to follow cause I didn't always remember who was telling the story when it changed every chapter. This just made things seem a little all over the place with so many people telling the story.
I was not a fan of this book or the series. I'm still not sure why I ended up reading this book or the whole series when it seemed as though with each book in the series they just got worse and worse for me. Don't get me wrong this series started out well enough and I liked the first two books in the series (Beautiful Oblivion and Beautiful Redemption). But after those two books it seemed as though this series lost its spark and I could no longer care about what was going on with this series. Therefore, I have to say that this series really isn't worth reading.

Immortal Nights (Argeneau Book #24) By: Lynsay Sands

(N) Immortal Nights is the latest book in the Argeneau series.
Abigail Forsythe's life hasn't been easy lately. Having just gone through watching her mother die and left with no money and no way to pay to go back to school Abigail decides to catch a flight with her pilot friend when he has to deliver a package to South America. What Abigail didn't expect to happen was finding a naked man locked in the plane's cargo hold. A very gorgeous man locked in a cage and when her instincts prompt her to set the man free the two soon end up having to rely on each other for survival. But this man isn't just any ordinary man, he's a man who leaves her body buzzing with need every time he touches her.
Tomasso Notte knows that he's found his life mate in Abigail. Now all he wants to do is hold onto her. But they're miles away from civilization, being hunted by his abductors, and Abigail has no idea who Tomasso is or what his abilities are or why they have such a strong connection. But now that he has her in his sights Tomasso isn't going to let Abigail go.

For most of the books in the Argeneau series I find myself unable to stop reading and always find myself for the most part being interested while reading the whole book. But for Immortal Nights I just could not find myself interested in it. While I did read this book in no time at all it didn't really do anything for me in keeping my attention and I found myself skimming through a lot of parts in the book. I found myself unable to get into Abigail and Tomasso's story and their connection and because of that I couldn't get into this book as a whole. Should you skip this book in the series probably but just fair warning if you do skip this book you might miss some things that may or may not be important for future books in this series.
