Stealing Home By: Nicole Williams

(N) Allie is the only woman working for a professional baseball team, which doesn't make her life any easier. Allie is the San Diego Shock's newest athletic trainer meaning she works long hours, does endless traveling and has to ward off players' advances. Given that she is the only woman in a man's world she has to work twice as hard as her male counterparts and yet Allie is still the subject to many rumors about how 'lucky' she is to have earned such a dream position. Because of this Allie can't so much as look at any of the players a certain way as to be taken seriously by everyone.
Not everyone feels the same way, number eleven Luke Archer wants more from Allie than for her to look at him a certain way, much more. Luke is at the top of his game, the star player of San Diego's Shock and he doesn't let the fear of striking out keep him from playing the game. This is Luke's motto, something that he applies to both on and off the field no one is immune to him, that is except for Allie. Allie doesn't seem to think of Luke in any way except as just another player on the team.
Luke is a player and in Allie's experience, all players are the same. And she is not going to risk her job or her heart to another player, no matter how different Luke seems to be. But as Allie comes to know Luke she discovers that the man who the public sees is a whole different person than the real Luke Archer.  The real Luke Archer seems to be too good to be true and maybe he is. Because when Allie is told the stories of the player Luke Archer, she must decide who to believe - the man or the rumors.
Stealing Home was another interesting and good read. I managed to read this book in just two days. This was another book that kept my attention throughout the entire time I was reading and I could not seem to put it down. This is a book that I think is worth reading.
